BIOGRAPHY

A seasoned entertainer of nearly four decades, DJ’s performance brings to the stage a professionalism that both personifies and embodies what an entertainer should be. Whether entertaining adults or children his professional and engaging manner make it easy to see why he is an audience and presenter’s favourite.

DJ is passionate about performing and has been entertaining since 1986. His shows combine music, comedy and a lot of audience participation into a performance that won’t soon be forgotten.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba he first found his passion for playing music in small bands during his school years. In later years as an adult and father he found himself writing songs for his three young sons. His inspiration for many of these songs came from suggestions and requests that his children would make while he played for them before bed.

Writing songs came quite easily for DJ and he soon found he had a large collection of songs he had written. It was then he decided he would try his hand at performing these songs for other children, and so began what has become a rewarding and personally fulfilling career.

In 1994 he along with musical partner Jon briggs created the “Rodeo Riders”. A western music and comedy show that enjoyed great success and still performs to this day.

His newest musical project “My Old Radio - The AM Experience” is a nostalgic look back to the late 60’s & early 70’s music. A two set show that is performed along to a multi-media slide presentation that takes his audience back to a time when AM radio was king.

In addition to performing he has also worked as a composer for children’s theatre and has scored music for stage performances of “The Big Comfy Couch”, “Calliou” and many others. He has also scored music for a series of children’s cartoons, most notably “Noonbory and the Super Seven”. In 2010 he won a coveted industry award for “Best Song for a Commercial” which he wrote for Unilever Ponds.

He has also authored and illustrated several children’s books and produced multiple videos featuring his works.
